Mr.Mitsuteru Yokoyama was born on 1934 at Kobe City, Hyougo prefecture.
He graduated from Ota junior high school and went to Suma high school.
He started submitting the cartoons to the comic book publishers during his high school years which appeared in many of the cartoon magazines.
After graduating high school he worked at a bank but left the company because he had a great passion about drawing cartoons.
So he kept on drawing cartoons while he was working as an advertising agent for the movie distribution company.
He made his formal debut as a cartoonist on 1954 with a cartoon named "Oto nashi no ken."
On 1956 he released a cartoon named “Tetsujin 28 go" (Ironman 28th, as known as Gigantor) which was a huge hit to make him famous.
This title was made to animation and many related merchandises were created which was a social movement at that time.
He kept on creating many masterpiece cartoons within various genres.
He won "Japan Cartoonist Award" from the Japan Cartoonist Association and "Minister of Education award" from the
Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
To our great regret he passed away with an unexpected accident on 2004.
Many of his work are still loved by many people as of now.
